Brand Strategy

A Team Spotlight Series: Interview with Doug Lawson

Meet Doug Lawson, Social Content Strategist on our A Team.

Here at Growth Street, we’re all about people. Our A Team is the life-blood of our business. Meet the people who share their expertise and best selves every day, continuing with our Social Content Strategist, Doug! Doug is the master at mapping content to buyer intent across just about every digital channel. His content sparks conversations and drives attention to brands, which is one of the many reasons he is an invaluable member of our A Team!

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I’ve lived in 10 different states.  7 of them were before I graduated High School.

Are you more of an introvert or extravert?

I’m generally an introvert. Extroverted around people I care about.

If you were to define your superpower, what would it be?

My superpower is my understanding of human nature. I’m obsessed with figuring out why people do what they do. What influences their decisions. What their day-to-day life looks like.

What lights your fire?

Challenges. I love a good challenge. Whether it’s trying to find content that speaks for your brand or being in a really bad chess position… it lights my fire.

Do you have a pet? If so, tell us about it!

I have 4 cats. I’m a cat person, 100 percent!

What is something you wish you knew sooner?

Drip coffee should never exist. French press or percolators are life changers.

In your words, what is the power of brand?

Brand is the fulcrum that allows your customers to instantly see you as the solution to their problems, above all others. Powerful stuff if you invest in it. Otherwise, continue on talking about how great your product is.

What does being a part of the A Team mean to you?

Michelle Heath is a big, big mentor of mind. The way her mind works, the passion she has for what she does, the depth of her experience in the marketing world is unrivaled. I learn something from here every day. And she’s also a wonderful human being. All these make working for Growth Street a pleasure.

What makes Growth Street special?

It’s rare, in marketing, to work with someone who truly understands brand. Not as a buzzword but as an actual strategy that unlocks growth. Everyone else talks about it abstractly, Growth Street puts it to action. Truly special to see.

Who is a business leader you admire and why?

Michelle Heath. Nuff said!

Giddy up, Doug! We are so lucky to have you on our A Team.
